Emimanuel Adebayor insists he is happy at Manchester City – sort of.
The Togo striker has once again been linked with a move to AC Milan with reports claiming he is unhappy at City following the change in management this season.
Adebayor, who recently claimed he never wanted to leave Arsenal, was understood to have his heart set on a move to the San Siro in the summer when it became clear the Gunners wanted to sell him, before he ended up at City.
A possible Milan move is again doing the rounds on the rumour mill with the 26-year-old said to be unsettled following the sacking of Mark Hughes.
But the striker has moved to dispel the rumours, claiming he is happy at Eastlands, for now.
He said: “I signed at City for five years. I am very happy here so far, but you never know.
“For me, I am a Manchester City player and I hope to be for a long time.”
LIVERPOOL boss Rafa Benitez is perhaps feeling the heat, after bucking the trend to slam his players for their 1-0 defeat
to Wigan on Monday night.
Benitez, who normally jumps to the defence of his players, saw Hugo Rodallega’s goal put a huge dent in the Reds’ bid to qualify for the Champions League. And Benitez said: “I’m really disappointed. In the first half we didn’t do anything and didn’t show the attitude required. It’s difficult to explain.
“At half-time we talked about the things we weren’t doing well - the attitude and the character. We made too many mistakes and played too quickly.”
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez meanwhile, insisted he didn’t felt sorry for his compatriot after his side inflicted a ninth defeat of the season on Benitez.
The Spaniard said: “Rafa doesn’t need my sympathy because he is too talented to be worried. “I think there are too many managers worried at the moment for me to sympathise with anyone.
“[But] I wouldn’t say it was a surprise they struggled,” he added.
“When you put that extra pressure on Liverpool, everyone wants to beat them and with their style people can work tactically against that.”
