Terry ‘not to blame’ for accident
Terry ‘not to blame’ for accident

Chelsea captain John Terry was not to blame for driving into a club security guard, the wounded official said as the footballer was set to visit him.

England centre-half Terry was questioned by the police and breathalysed after leaving Chelsea's deputy security manager Steve Rowley with a badly bruised leg as he drove away from the club's Stamford Bridge ground.

"John was quickly in contact with me once he realised what had happened and there's no bad feeling at all on my part," Rowley said in a brief statement through the west London club.

"It wasn't his fault at all, it was a complete accident."
The security chief was taken to hospital.

Terry, 29, accompanied by his wife Toni, had been driving slowly and was found to be within the legal alcohol limit.
He was expected to visit Rowley yesterday, the defender's spokesman Phil Hall said.

The security guard was trying to clear a scrum of photographers and fans as Terry left the ground on Tuesday after the Blues were knocked out of the Champions League round of 16.

The English Premier League title-chasers were beaten 1-0 by Italian champions Inter Milan, knocking the Blues out 3-1 on aggregate.

"The club made contact with John and put the police in touch," spokesman Hall told Sky Sports television.

"They breathalysed him but he hadn't had a single drop to drink so the breathalyser showed nothing.

"John answered any questions they asked and that was the end of the matter. Since then he's found out the name of person and called him.

"He was really upset this had happened because the security guys were obviously trying to help him. He was very apologetic."
Terry has rarely been out of the headlines in recent weeks.

He was sacked as England captain by coach Fabio Capello amid allegations of an affair with the ex-girlfriend of former international and Chelsea team-mate Wayne Bridge.

A spell of poor form from Terry coincided with Chelsea losing to Everton and Manchester City, allowing title rivals Manchester United to replace them at the top of the Premier League.

About Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai (دبي) is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. It is rather like an independent city-state and is the most modern and progressive emirate in the UAE.

A relatively new tourist destination, Dubai has gained in popularity in recent years. It is essentially a desert city with superb infrastructure, liberal policies (by regional standards), and excellent tourist amenities. Just 5 hrs from Europe and 3 hrs from most parts of the Middle East, the Near East, and the sub-continent of India, Dubai makes a great short break for shopping, partying, sunbathing, fine dining, sporting events, and even a few sinful pleasures. It is a city of superlatives: for the fastest, biggest, tallest, largest and highest, Dubai is the destination.

The weekly day off is on Friday. Note that, since September 2006, a harmonised weekend of Friday and Saturday has been adopted for the public sector and schools. Government departments, multi-national companies, and most schools and universities are now off on Friday and Saturday (after years of a mixed bag of Friday/Saturday and Thursday/Friday weekends). Some local companies still work a half day on Thursday with a full-day on Saturday.
